2025 Heathgate Sunflower HOA Board Member Election Results & Our Roadmap Ahead
Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent HOA election! With your votes, we’ve ushered in fresh leadership and set a clear path for modernization:

Certification Compliance: Under Fla. Stat. § 720.3033, all directors must complete a state-approved HOA law course within 90 days. Rubi, Therese, Sallie, and the rest of the members have until June 30th to take course and submit certificate to avoid suspension.
What We’ve Accomplished So Far:
Website Build: President Rubi Garcia designed and launched hshoa.com, centralizing everything from our Activities Calendar to document archives and the resident contact portal.
Newsletter Update and Digitization: President Rubi Garcia designed the final Newsletter sent to residents in February 2025 bringing an updated look and information to residents. She also set the foundation for the Heathgate Sunflower Newsletter “The Sunflower” will be distributed digitally going forward to save the HOA money and allow for more frequent publications.
Email Directory: President Rubi Garcia developed a resident email directory using online software, providing a reliable channel for distributing HOA news, updates, and event invitations. Secretary Sallie James has been instrumental in helping collect resident emails to build our HOA resident database.
Banking Modernization: Treasurer Therese Costanza with the support of the Board, has championed the improvement of our banking and finances. Rubi and Therese are working hand-in-hand to institute online banking—which will lay the groundwork to make HOA payments more convenient.
User-Friendly Features: The Executive Board is currently working on ways to streamline many of our processes by making them digital to allow for better transparency for our residents and strategic planning for our community. We encourage you to attend our monthly meetings (Second Thursday of each month) to offers your input and help shape the future of Heathgate Sunflower.
Next Steps:
Finalize Certification: Ensure the remaining Board Members have completed their Board Member Certification by 6/30/25.
Attorney Consultation: Introduce new members to our attorney and get procedural/legal questions answered before our next meeting.
